An energetic piece with fantastic characterisation from performers Hannah Mitchell, Zach Lusk and Matt Brown, written by Moliere Award Winner David Lescot. A punchy, witty show with commentary on capitalist society, classism, and the desire to rise through the ranks to better your life.
There is a fantastic use of multi-rolling from Mitchell and Brown who create a world around Lusk as he tells us about the character’s family life, love affairs and the pursuit of money.
Through physicality and vocal work, each character is distinct and cleverly portrayed which injects humour into the show. The piece is impressively fast paced, which at first is engaging and entertaining, the structure rarely changes which oftentimes has a tiring effect on the audience as we try to keep up.
Despite the play’s commendable acting from the ensemble, and impressive presentation, peppered with delightful comedic instances, it doesn’t have a completely unique point of view on the subject matter. Instead it reaffirms what the audience is already aware of.
