6 Other Pantomimes to see in London this Christmas

Love a Pantomime and London Festivities, but don’t fancy paying Palladium Prices? We can’t blame you – especially when there are so many other wonderful takes on Pantomime in the capital this Christmas.

Here are some festive options. Three of them might be Cinderella, but that still leaves three which aren’t…

1. The Nativity Pantomime – A Not-So Silent Night, King’s Head Theatre

When: 29th November – 11th January.

Age Recommendation: ‘All Welcome’ at performances on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with Family performances also on Saturdays & Sundays at 3pm. Adult Only (16+) performances Thursday – Saturday evenings.

Tickets From: £16 in Previews from the King’s Head Theatre box office. After that, £20-£30. Concessions £22.50. Aged 10 or under, go for £10. Under 5s go free on laps.

Best Deal: Direct from the Box Office currently.

Running Time: TBC

Nearest Station: Angel or Highbury and Islington.

2. Jack and the Beanstalk, Theatre Peckham

You haven’t got long to catch this one. Probably particularly good if you’re already living in London, and excellent to support a smaller, local theatre.

When: 4th December – 22nd December

Age Recommendation: 4+

Tickets From: £15 for Adults, £12 for Children or Concessions, £40 for a Family with reduced rates if you live in Southwark. Tickets here

Best Deal: Unlikely to get better than Direct from the Theatre Peckham Box Office.

Running Time: TBC

Nearest Station: Denmark Hill or Peckham Rye.

3. Cinderella, The Vaults

True to fashion for The Vaults, this take on the classic Cinderella is not in its usual setting. In fact, this time it is set in a pub.

When: 22nd November – 12th January

Age Recommendation: 12+

Tickets From: £20-£35 direct from the Box Office

Best Deal: Currently from The Vaults Box Office, but like others worth looking out for in TodayTix and others Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals.

Running Time: 90 Minutes, plus optional Karaoke…

Nearest Station: Waterloo Mainline or Underground Station

4. Cinderella, Trafalgar Studios

Yes, another one. This time starring Ru Paul’s Drag Race star Baga Chipz, and only on Sundays.

When: 15th December to 29th December – Sundays only.

Age Recommendation: 14+

Tickets From: £15 direct from ATG, but with a £3.50 booking fee.

Best Deal: May be subject to TodayTix’s likely Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, but nothing confirmed yet.

Running Time: TBC

Nearest Station: Charring Cross

5. Cinderella, Lyric Hammersmith

This is the last Cinderella, we promise.

When: 16th November to 5th January, though it doesn’t show every day.

Age Recommendation: 6+

Tickets From: £10 – £44 direct from the Lyric Hammersmith’s Box Office.

Best Deal: May also feature in TodayTix’s likely Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and they’re always worth keeping an eye on for flash sales. For now, Direct from the Box Office looks like its best.

Running Time: 2 hours 20 minutes, including an interval.

Nearest Station: Hammersmith

6. Potted Panto – Southwark Playhouse

Seven Classic Pantomimes in 80 minutes. What could go wrong?

When: 5th December to 11th January

Age Recommendation: TBC

Tickets From: Work out at £12 with the Southwark Playhouse Pay As You Go Subscription. Previews from £15 direct from the box office, £25 or £20 for concessions once the run has officially started. Also a family of 4 can go for £80 with a Family Ticket, which must include One over 16 and One Under 16.

Best Deal: Southwark Playhouse PAYG Scheme

Running Time: 1 hour 40, including an interval.

Nearest Station: Elephant and Castle
