MISS SAIGON opened on Broadway last week, to nightly standing ovations following a smash-hit run at London’s Prince Edward Theatre. The New Yorker calls it a “Dynamite Broadway revival”. Hardly surprising given the similar reviews the show received after record breaking advanced sales when it opened in 2014 in London. The show swept the board at the 2015 Whatsonstage.com awards winning a record breaking nine awards, the most awards ever won by a single show in the 15-year history of the awards.

With music by Claude-Michel Schonberg and lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and Alan Boublil, Miss Saigon tells the story of the last days of the Vietnam War, where 17 year-old Kim is forced to work in a Saigon bar run by ‘the Engineer’. There she meets and falls in love with an American GI named Chris but they are torn apart by the fall of Saigon. For 3 years Kim goes on an epic journey of survival to find her way back to Chris, who has no idea what his life looks like by then.

Since its London premiere in 1989, Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’slegendary musical MISS SAIGON has become one of the most successful musicals in history.  The original Broadway production opened on April 11, 1991 with what was the largest advance sale in Broadway history.  The show has now been seen by over 35 million people worldwide.

In addition to the venues already announced, dates in Manchester, Norwich, Plymouth and Bristol have been announced. Full details of the tour schedule to date are below with further venues to be announced soon.
