On The Town, with music by Leonard Bernstein and Book and Lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, will play at Regents Park Open Air Theatre from Friday 19th May – Saturday 1st July.
This production is directed and choreographed by the esteemed Drew McOnie, who choreographed Jesus Christ Superstar at the park last year, and will do so again this season.
Danny Mac, who trained at Arts Educational Schools, and was a finalist last year in Strictly Come Dancing, will play Gabey. He is by no means a stranger to the West End stage, having been in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.
Fred Haig, who plays Chip, is a recent graduate of LAMDA. Jeremy Taylor, on the other hand, adds this to his growing list of credits, having previously appeared in Wicked, We Will Rock You, The Sound Of Music, and Evita.
Sienna Kelly and Miriam-Teak Lee play Ivy and Claire respectively – both have recently graduated from Arts Educational Schools and make their professional debuts in this production.
Lizzy Connoly, who is currently in The Wild Party at The Other Palace, appears as Hildy. Maggie Steed (Madame Dilly) has had an extensive career on stage and also TV and film. Naoko Mori played Kim in the original production of Miss Saigon at Drury Lane. She also played Christmas Eve in Avenue Q, and has extensive television credits. She plays Lucy Schmeeler.
Rodney Earl Clarke, Mark Heenehan, Michelle Andrews, Myles Brown, Matthew Caputo, Edward Chitticks, Lavinia Fitzpatrick, Cristina Hoey, James Leece, Jacob Maynard, Rachel Muldoon, Melissa Nettleford, Emily Ann Potter, Mollie Melia Redgrave, Lisa Ritchie, Barnaby Thompson, Sam Salter and Brandon Lee Sears complete the cast.
On The Town opens for previews on 19th May. Performances will be Monday – Saturday at 7:45pm, Thursday & Saturday at 2:15pm, with no matinee on 20th or 25th May.
